Adventure Begins!

Here it is! Round One in the real-life Choose Heather’s Adventure. (Hopefully this works!)

Check out the poll below and vote for your favorite. Notice the write-in space. Feel free to use it, and feel free to come back each day and vote for your favorite. Sometime Saturday I’ll be performing the winning action, complete with either photographic or video proof (or both) of the deed.

So… on your mark!

get set!

I make this look good!

That’s right! I’ve had one. An amazing – if dangerously insane – idea for a blog and maybe something more.

But first – I must get the people to come. And if the Field of Dreams knew what it was talking about, all I have to do is build it, right? If I build it, they will come.

Build what?

Well, far as I can tell, build an interest, an anticipation, a desire to see what will happen next in this, the blog of all blogs, the mother of all ideas, the thing which could be one of two things: the Stairway to Heaven or the Highway to Hell.

So… here goes. A teaser.

Does anyone remember those choose your own adventure books from about, oh, 20-something years ago (maybe older still)? Well, in an effort to inspire myself and maybe others (to do what, I haven’t yet decided), I had the idea to open myself up to living the adventures others would choose for me.

“Whoa-ho, Nelly! What are you sayin’ here, pardner?” No, I will NOT run naked through the Super Walmart screaming for Peep Freedom. Well, I won’t run naked, anyway. No, no, it’ll be a little less spontaneous than that. But the choice, my friends, will be completely up to you.

I’ll start small.

Once a week, let’s say on a Monday, I shall post a poll. This poll will consist of three (3) actions. Actions that I would perform should one of them become the ‘Chosen Action’ – the action chosen most often by the folks who frequent my blog. I’ll leave the voting open for five (5) days, at the end of which I will tally up the votes and determine the winning action – which I will have to complete over the weekend, the next two days after the polls closes.

I had thought to make the choices all dating related, like a ‘hey world! won’t you come help me find a date?’ and I still may do that once I see people coming back and participating. And once people are coming back and participating regularly I will make it a daily poll. A daily chance to state your opinion and see it make a difference.

So here goes. Be sure to check back tomorrow morning and seggggggg (I shouldn’t type this when sleepy – who knows what I’ll end up doing!)

Check back tomorrow morning and see what’s on the table. What will YOU have me do this weekend?

Homework that’s fun! (and clothes that are not)

I’m actually enjoying my CS100 class this 6th time around. Check this out.

As for clothes that are fun, I stopped by Gordman’s tonight, just to browse, ya know, no specific purchase in mind. My first real stop was – of course – the clearance racks, my personal kryptonite. I flipped through all the amazingly color-coded garments when my fingers settled on a little ruffled skirt. Not the tutu “look at what I can do, mommy!” ruffles. Just cute little layery texturey ruffles. The real clincher was the price tag – 3 bucks. Man! You can’t just beat deals like that. And I was all kindsa ready to take it and head home when I decided to look for a matching top.

Lo and behold – I found one with the same type of cute little ruffles. Has to match, right?

*eyebrow raised

One might make that mistake. (one=ME) All throughout my search, I’m on the phone trying to convince my friend Amy to come down and check out my potential purchase. I end up finding another super cute top, a different kind of ruffley, that I add to my arm before I head to the dressing room.

That moment in the dressing room, friends, was the stuff AFV legends are made of. As it turns out, cute little ruffley numbers like that are not necessarily meant for the rounder folks in the world. Especially when the ruffles – stretched taut across the chest, in my case – start to lay in unusual directions. As I told Amy, there really were no words for the image of me burned into the retinas of anyone unfortunate enough to catch of glimpse of me just then.

It didn’t stop there. The next top I tried on made me look like a Tudor extra reject. Hell, it made me look like I was wearing a bustle, for crying out loud. And I seriously barely got into that thing.

SO… There were no purchases in the clothing department made on my behalf tonight. And I thought losing weight was supposed to mean I could shop. 😉

So the Sandman is already wacking about the head and neck wondering why I haven’t dropped yet, so I suppose I should sign off. Especially since he just brought out the Abrams.

Nighteenight all. More later. Love to all…
